Lexi, soon after she was born.
Lexi was born into a litter of 11 puppies on November 2, 2010.
I remember when Joel and I went to the breeder’s house to decide if we wanted to purchase a puppy. Joel had forewarned me that it would be near impossible to leave and not want one.
Boy, was he ever right. I wanted to take ALL of those little puppies home right then and there. They were so incredibly cute, and it was so hard to choose just one…but in the end we fell in love with our Lexi.
We wouldn’t be taking Lexi home until after our trip to Illinois for Christmas, so the kids, Auntie Valen, and I stopped in to play with Lexi before our trip.
These pictures were taken soon after we brought Lexi home. She was about 7 weeks old. It was really cold outside, so we actually kept her in our kitchen/basement for the first 5 months that we had her.
Lexi, four months old.
Lexi, 6 1/2 months old, after her first shave.
Lexi, one year old, with her first pheasant.
It’s hard to believe, but this year really has flown by. Lexi has matured a lot over the past year, and learned a ton. She’s still very energetic, but over-all she’s a good dog, and we love her , especially Joel.
(…and even though Levi likes cats better, he wouldn’t give Lexi up for anything! )
