Our five year old “man”

Sorry…I just couldn’t resist posting that picture. :)

 

Levi pulls LOTS of faces when I try to take pictures of him, so he can be pretty funny to take pictures of…but it can also be slightly frustrating when you’re trying to get a good picture for printing.

The sun was pretty bright when we snapped pictures, so he squinted a bit, but overall he did pretty well.

Mom: “Levi, smile at the camera.”

Lovely.

Mom: “Levi, look at me.”

Levi: “I am.”

Mom: “Um…no, you’re not.”

I had a hard time getting him to smile in the end, so I tried to make him “roar” like a tiger at me…just to get him to laugh…

This is what I ended up with. :)

Levi wanted a pirate ship this year for his birthday cake.

What?!?!

Not only do I think pirates have bad connotations, I also just wasn’t sure how I was going to make a pan of cake look like a ship.

But in the end (after looking at numerous ship cakes on pinterest and google), I created this cool Big Ship….with no pirate stuff on it. We can just call it the Mayflower or something…. :)

When he opened up the fridge the next morning and saw the cake, he was pretty thrilled.

Grandpa and Grandma V.E. came for supper and cake.

When it was time to put the candles on the cake, I wasn’t sure where to place them at first (candles next to paper sails…ummm, not a good idea). But then we decided, why not just put them on the side and pretend their canons blasting off! Levi liked that idea.

Make a wish and blow….!

oops…missed one, try again!

and then after all that work….

he had to pick his nose real quick.
